MIDOR (Middle East Oil Refinery) partnered with MISC to modernize the automation system of its Nitrogen Plant, ensuring improved reliability, scalability, and compliance with modern industry standards. The existing Siemens S5 controllers and legacy operator workstations had reached obsolescence, limiting efficiency and supportability.

Project Scope

  • Migration from Siemens S5 to PCS 7 DCS
  • Replacement of obsolete controllers with modern PCS 7 controllers
  • Deployment of redundant I/O racks based on ET200M with full I/O and network redundancy
  • Supply of modern, up-to-date Operator Workstations (OWS)
  • Implementation of anti-surge protection logic directly within the PLC software for safe and reliable operation
