The Eastern Company partnered with MISC to modernize its fleet of aging SASIB pack-of-20 cigarette packaging machines. Originally controlled by contactors, relays, and other conventional elements, these old-fashioned machines were in need of a complete upgrade to ensure higher reliability, faster throughput, and lower maintenance costs.
These machines, post-upgrade, achieve approximately 300 packs per minute (about 6,000 cigarettes per minute), delivering significant gains in productivity.
The SASIB machines are part of a class of cigarette-soft-pack / pack-of-20 packaging machines associated with Hauni / Sasib brands. They are designed for high-volume production with relatively simple pack formats, offering reliable, though older, mechanical structures.
By integrating modern automation components, these machines can be brought up to near-modern standards while preserving their core mechanical infrastructure.
