Control System For Synthesis Units- HCL Furnace

Design, installation and commissioning of control system for Synthesis Units- HCL Furnace using the followings:

TCI Sanmar HCL Furnaces Control System Supply

TCI Sanmar, a chemical industry leader, partnered with MISC to deploy new, standardized control systems for two critical HCL Synthesis Furnaces. The project aimed to replicate the proven automation architecture of existing furnaces, ensuring operational consistency, enhancing control reliability, and simplifying maintenance and spare parts management across the facility.

Project Scope

  • Design, supply, and factory testing of two independent control systems for HCL Furnaces.
  • Supply of main control enclosures housing Siemens S7-300 PLCs, TP1900 Comfort HMIs, and comprehensive marshalling with signal conditioners.
  • Provision of a local control box for field operator interface.
  • Development of PLC application programs and HMI operating screens, consistent with existing furnace logic.
  • On-site commissioning and startup support for both units.

Key Benefits

  • Implementation of a standardized, proven control platform across multiple furnace units, ensuring operational familiarity and reducing training overhead.
  • Enhanced process control and operator situational awareness through modern Siemens S7-300 PLCs and high-resolution Comfort Panel HMIs.
  • Simplified long-term maintenance and spare parts inventory through the use of identical, interchangeable components.
  • Increased system reliability with dedicated signal conditioning and isolation for critical I/O signals.

Outcome

MISC successfully delivered a turnkey automation solution that provided TCI Sanmar with reliable and identical control systems for its HCL furnaces. This project bolstered plant operational consistency, minimized future downtime through standardized components, and ensured a seamless integration of the new units into the plant’s operational workflow.
